| Description |
BADFA was started 10 years ago by a small group of enthusiastic teachers and artists. Today we are a thriving association with members in all parts of the world. We produce a quarterly magazine, which includes patterns for everyone from beginners to advanced painters. We also hold an annual 'roadshow', which is popular both for the classes offered and the supplies that can be purchased at the trade show.
Decorative and Folk Art painting has its roots in the 16th century, when country folk would make and decorative with paint, simple furniture and household items.
There are numerous styles, - canalware being only a small part of folk art. Todays artists also enjoy other forms of painting as well, such as trompe 'l oeil, marbling, stencilling, faux finishes and antiquing, which all come under the umbrella of 'Decorative Painting' |
